Carmel Valley

Carmel Valley is a relatively new community in San Diego. Just south of Carmel Valley is Sorrento Valley and just west is Torrey Pines and Del Mar. Carmel Valley is an affluent car-dependent suburban planned community in the north-western corner of San Diego. The community is composed of commercial offices, residential units, hotels, and retail stores and restaurants.  Carmel Valley has many businesses and corporate headquarters. It has a decent amount of bars and restaurants, but there is not a “main drag” where most of the bars and restaurants are grouped together. Carmel Valley is one of the newer neighborhoods of the City of San Diego.

Carmel Valley is a master-planned neighborhood. The community has many community-oriented events such as festivals and the Carmel Valley 5K. The Del Mar Fairgrounds is close to Carmel Valley, which is the home of the San Diego County Fair, horse races, concerts, the Del Mar Fairgrounds, and other events throughout the year. Carmel Valley is fairly central in San Diego, and is close to the 5 and 56 freeways, so it is easy to get around town. Carmel Valley is known for its top-notch schools and family friendly community.
