Poway

Poway is a rural city in northeast San Diego, known by locals as "the city in the country." It spans almost 40 square miles.

Poway's roots are in agriculture, and Poway still feels much more rural than many other parts of San Diego. Poway has great hiking, with about 55 miles of excellent hiking trails. The most famous is the hike of Mount Woodson Trail, culminating with a photo on "potato chip rock." There are also parks, pools, and numerous fantastic schools in Poway.

There is some shopping and dining in Poway, but not a ton. The city is relatively quiet and slower paced. If you're looking to live a bit outside of the center of San Diego, with perhaps some land, Poway is an excellent place to consider.
