University City/UTC

University City is a centrally located community in San Diego. It is near UCSD, Rose Canyon, and San Clemente Canyon. Just South of UC is Clairemont, Just West is La Jolla, Just North is Del Mar, and Just East is Miramar.

University City has two portions, and I consider them to be divided by University City High School. North of the high school is called UTC, with HOA communities, and south is University City “UC”, with predominantly non-HOA single family houses. UTC mall has recently gotten a tremendous renovation, with wonderful shopping, dining, bars, and recreation. The trolley also now extends all the way to University City, connecting it seamlessly to downtown San Diego.

With a great proximity to the water, as well as lots to do, UC has become an increasingly popular area of town.
